Aldi's

Our "new" again favorite old store.

I mentioned store brand Hamburger Helper in another post.

Which brings me to this post.

We used to shop at Aldi's all the time.

But, then drifted away.  Not sure why.

Just did.

But, now, with the ever-increasing price of groceries,

we've gone back to Aldi's.

We couldn't afford not to.

And I think we are going to like it.

Alot.

I like it for the convenience.

Bob likes it for the prices.

(Well, I like it for that reason too.)

The older kids like it because they are

seeing some old favorites.

The younger girls are loving it because

 it's new to them.

Right now,

it's a better fit for our family.

We need alot of food to feed the 9 of us.

Even though, I think Aldi's has alot of

 more convenient type foods,

they have great prices on their fruits and veggies...

and their meats as well.

There was a time when the kids were home all day

and I had lots of help around.

So, cooking most everything from scratch was easy.

Now, times-are-a'changin'........

During the school year, the older four kiddos spend

alot of time at school.

They need quick, in-expensive and

easy snacks and meals.

Nat and Nik have jobs now.

Nat has 2.

So, they aren't home as much to help

with the cooking.

It takes a good part of the day for

the younger 3 girls and I to get

through their homeschool work.

Most days, I'm just not inclined to

cook big, elaborate, from scratch meals.

I want something easy to put on the table.

Nikki does most of the cooking around here.

She can cook most anything from scratch,

but she'd rather not.

She prefers quick, simple throw-together meals.

And, truthfully, we've been

leaning on the easier, more

convenient type of cooking.

And, I'm okay with that.

More than okay.
